Hello everyone! My name is Luke Sheehan, and I am currently a senior business student at Santa Clara University. Since coming to Santa Clara, I have developed an affinity for endurance sports, and for years I have had a personal goal of running a marathon. I am excited to share that on April 26th, I will be running the Big Sur Marathon. To accomplish a dream of mine along some of the most beautiful coastlines our nation has to offer is a true privilege.
I was able to obtain a position in the race through a lottery, but these events become more meaningful when you run with a purpose. That’s why I am grateful to partner with Champion Charities. Longtime family friends of mine, Meg and Harris Barton, started this wonderful initiative to raise money for brain cancer and other brain-related diseases. In addition, they support communities by providing a night at the theater for children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend. From my firsthand experience, the smiles on these kids’ faces are truly inspiring.
From now until April 26th, my mission is simple: to turn a personal goal into something bigger. I hope to raise awareness, funds, and support for an incredible cause. Any donation, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated and would go a long way in supporting the organization and its impact.
